Glazing

Commercial Window Glazing

Commercial windows feature a glazing system that integrates multiple panes of glass. EPDM gaskets are applied to maintain insulation. Glazing has traditionally been placed by a glazier, who professionally inserts the glass.

Double glazing, where two glass panels are in the same frame, is a practical investment for insulation. In addition to keeping out extreme air temperatures, it greatly reduces the level of outside noise for Long Island businesses.
EPDM gaskets

EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) is a synthetic rubber used for sealing. The material is highly durable during hazardous weather.

History of Glazing

Virginia was the location for the first glass factory in the U.S in the early 1600s. A couple hundred years later, demand increased in throughout the country. This included New York glazing for windows. The turn of the century and the industrial revolution brought glazing and commercial glass to an improved level. Irving W. Colburn invented the sheet glass drawing machine at this time, which created masses of window glass
